Creative Programs We Offer
Mind the Change Inc has four workshops that use art to help people with dementia and their primary support network. The workshops are Drama and Laughter Therapy, Art Therapy, and Memory Lane. Each workshop lasts 2 hours and helps people feel better, less alone, and engage their senses.
In Drama and Laughter Therapy, people use acting and laughter to feel happier and more confident. In Art Therapy, people can make art to express themselves and feel better emotionally and mentally. In Memory Lane, people do activities that help them remember their past.
The workshops happen weekly or bi-weekly and aim to make a supportive and creative space for people with dementia.
Benefits of participating in a Creative Program
Participating in Mind the Change Inc’s workshops can undoubtedly benefit people living with dementia and their primary support networks. The workshops are designed to boost self-esteem and enhance cognitive function, while providing opportunities for positive interaction and sensory engagement. Ultimately improving overall wellbeing.
Our workshops combine various techniques such as drama, laughter therapy, art therapy, and nostalgic activities to create a supportive and creative environment. Participants get to connect with others and engage in meaningful activities. With increased self-awareness, positive self-expression, and enhanced sensory engagement, these workshops offer a powerful tool for promoting well-being and improving quality of life for those living with dementia.
